LED NEWS - INCANDESCENT LIGHT BULBS OUTLAWED - The European Union pulled the plug on the traditional light bulb yesterday when it agreed to start banning them within a year. The fade-out, to make way for energy-efficient bulbs, could begin as early as September with a ban on the 100-watt bulb, EU experts agreed in Brussels. It would be extended to lower wattages, with a complete ban of the familiar incandescent bulb across all EU states by 2012. Source - The Times Online

Standard sizes - Custom designs

LED light panels are available in a range of standard
sizes and can be supplied in two formats:
1. A complete LED light panel with an aluminium frame for use as a stand alone light source or as a light box to display transparencies. Panel size increases in depth to 30mm, the Frame depth.
2. A LED light panel without a frame for integration into and existing ceiling grid or other aperture where a frame is not required.
All LED light panels are supplied with a 30 Watt 220/12 Volt power supply. High power LED lights are embedded into both long sides of each panel.

- 600 x 600 x 8 mm - Power consumption 14.4W

LED is the future of energy efficient lighting
LOW ENERGY LIGHT BULBS (fluorescent curly tube type) DANGER -
Official advice from the Department of the Environment states that if a
low-energy bulb is smashed, the room needs to be vacated for at least 15
minutes. The Environment Agency has called for more information to be
made available on the health and environmental risks posed by low-energy
light bulbs. It says because the bulbs contain small amounts of mercury,
more information about safe recycling is needed.
It also wants health warnings printed on packaging and information on
how to clear up smashed bulbs in the home. Source BBC News, Jan 2009.
